This is an B level Mazama Hike that occurs in a wilderness area. B level hikes are moderate or more challenging hikes with either less than 15 miles in distance with between 1,500 and 3,000 feet elevation gain or between 8 and 15 miles in distance with less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Activity Notes

We’ll start our hike at the Top Spur Trailhead. After intersecting the Timberline Trail, we’ll hike around Bald Mountain and up Top Spur Ridge. There’ll be good views of Mt. Hood’s west face along the way. We’ll take the climber’s trail up to the McNeil Point Shelter, where we can expect nice wildflower displays. We’ll then complete a small loop back down to Timberline Trail and back to the trailhead.
