Activity Notes
This is an overnight ski climb. Please be proficient in back country ski travel methods.
Participants not on skis or splitboards will not be able to keep up with us, and this is not an opportunity to learn how to ski (sorry, I have literally gotten these questions multiple times before).
Day 1: Drive from Portland in the early hours to the Bunny Flat trailhead after securing climbing permits, skin up from as low as possible, snow camp at Lake Helen.
Day 2: Boot up to the summit with our skis (may leave at Red banks), descend from the Red Banks to camp. Pack up, ski down, or hike down to the cars. (Optional: stay in town for the evening, enjoy grub and bevs, have a restful evening in a motel instead of a long unsafe drive back when you're beat.)
Day 3: (Optional: Drive back)
Hit me up with questions via call or text: (360) 440-9830. Please have a shovel, probe and transceiver. If you need these, the Mazamas can supply them, but you must let me know in advance.
