Activity Notes

Tour of some of Mt. Hood's waterfalls. We'll start with Tamanawas Falls, then do the Umbrella/Sahalie Falls loop. If there's interest/time, we can stop at the very short Little Zigzag Falls hike on the way back.

We will carpool from Rock Haven at 6:45A.M. or you can meet us at Tamanawas Falls Trailhead at 8:00A.M. Since we'll be going to multiple trailheads, I encourage carpooling. A Northwest Forest Pass is required. Suggested gas contribution is $12/passenger.

We may encounter some patches of snow.

Total: 8.5 miles, 1600' gain, 5200' high point

***One of my motivations for leading hikes is to provide opportunities to improve mental and physical health and build community. There's a lot of evidence that spending time outside in nature and socially engaging outside of work is good for the body and mind. Minorities tend to experience more stress, especially in today's political climate. Therefore, I invite all races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, economic classes, religions, languages, and all other minorities to join me on my hikes!
