Activity Notes
This is a great hike located on the dry side of the Cascades in the Badger Creek Wilderness near Tygh Valley. We'll journey up a ridge behind Ball Point. We'll lunch in an area of rock pinnacles. Even on a rainy Portland day we may still have great weather out there without the crowds. However, since it's May in Oregon we should come prepared for any weather. If we are lucky, we can enjoy some wildflowers at the lower elevations, we'll get the mountain view of Jefferson right out of the gate. It's a great unsung hike well worth the 2-hour car ride from Portland.
We'll meet at the Gateway Transit center at 7:15am (on the side facing the Max tracks). Note the hike will start from the School Canyon Trailhead but given the drive I encourage carpooling.
