This is an C level Mazama Hike that occurs in a wilderness area. C level hikes are difficult or strenuous hikes with either over 15 miles in distance or over 3,000 feet elevation gain. C level hikes require you to apply; once you apply you will receive an email within a few days letting you know if you have been accepted onto the hike.

Activity Notes

Fourth in a series of conditioning hikes I'm hoping to lead.

This hike will be a lollipop loop up Nick Eaton and down Gorton Creek. Indian Point itself is exposed, but we don't have to go all the way out to the end (especially if it's windy or wet).

We will carpool from Rock Haven at 6:45A.M. or you can meet us at Herman Creek Trailhead at 7:30A.M. A Northwest Forest Pass is required at this trailhead. Suggested gas contribution will be $7/passenger. I'll be looking for at least 2 drivers.

***One of my motivations for leading hikes is to provide opportunities to improve mental and physical health and build community. There's a lot of evidence that spending time outside in nature and socially engaging outside of work is good for the body and mind. Minorities tend to experience more stress, especially in today's political climate. Therefore, I invite all races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, economic classes, religions, languages, and all other minorities to join me on my hikes!
