The Mitchell Point Exit has finally reopened after the 2017 fire and tunnel construction.

Time to reacquaint ourselves with this hike. 

At the parking lot there are restrooms, and we'll explore the new tunnel from there.   Back to the trail head we'll head up to the summit of Mitchell Point.   About 1300 feet elevation.  About 3 miles up and back.

We'll also want to explore the new trail and find the Wygant Trail.  Head up the first mile or so until we reach the infamous poison oak!
