from summitpost trip report: a 5 pitch climb on beeyooootiful granite with moves up to 5.6, a reasonable walk from the car, in sunny northern CA near Mt. Shasta. Sign me up!

Activity Notes

Mt. Hubris (The Ogre) is a delightful route on granite that is great for for new trad leaders. The approach is about 2.5 miles with an elevation gain of 2200 feet mostly on trail.  The last section is bushwhacking through Manzanitas. Once on the wall, there are 5 pitches of 5.6 climbing with some runout sections.  The views are amazing.

We will carpool from Portland to Castle Crags State Park Friday, climb Saturday (early start!) and return Sunday.  AR grads will be given preference.  We will ideally have 3 rope teams of 2, with the option to swing leads (or not).
