Activity Notes

Join AYM for a winter hike to Hidden Falls via the Appaloosa Trail! This is an 8 mile out-and-back trail with about 1200 ft in elevation gain.

The Appaloosa Trail opened in 2021, so it's relatively new. Starting from Rock Creek Campground it goes uphill along creek corridors, old logging roads, and forests until intersecting with the Tarbell Trail. From there it's a short distance to Hidden Falls where we'll take a snack & photo break before heading back the way we came. This trail is mostly in the forest so it's a great option in winter.

We'll meet at the MMC for carpools at 8:00am & leave by 8:15, estimated arrival at the trailhead is 9:15am.
