Activity Notes
Urban forest loop hike climbing up to the Willamette Stone State Heritage Site. We will do an extended version of this hike http://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Bird_Alliance_of_Oregon_Loop_Hike
From our NW Portland starting point at Wallace Park/Chapman School (NW 25th & Quimby), we will head up the Balch Creek Trail and return on the Upper Macleay Trail with some NW streets at the beginning and end. Expect about 8 miles and 1400 feet of elevation gain. Some history, some mud, and a few stairs.
Meet 9 am at Wallace Park (NW 25th & Quimby). This park is a short walk from the NW 23rd & Marshall Streetcar stop. Otherwise, street parking is available at Wallace Park.
