This is an B level Mazama Hike that occurs in a non-wilderness area. B level hikes are moderate or more challenging hikes with either less than 15 miles in distance with between 1,500 and 3,000 feet elevation gain or between 8 and 15 miles in distance with less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Activity Notes

8-15 miles.  Exploration of the Multnomah Basin and beyond.  Depending on weather, trail conditions, hike will include the Ornament Trail and possibly a back way to Devil's Rest.  The Larch Mountain trail's evolving slide and bridge conditions may affect the actual route, as will the weather. Part of hike will include a (gated) roadwalk. 

SPIKES REQUIRED  ~2 mph pace  

Bring an ornament to hang, if you wish :)
