Activity Notes

Join the Queerzamas for a cool winter snowshoe to Upper Twin Lake via Frog Lake SnoPark in Mt Hood! This is a gorgeous hike with plenty of large trees, open and (hopefully) frozen lakes! There will be tons of snow, a few birds, and (hopefully) some incredible views of Mt Hood from Upper Twin Lake!

This is a moderately paced snowshoe targeting 1-1.5mph, but I usually get side tracked by almost anything so our average pace may be slower.

For those carpooling we will be meeting at the Gateway Transit center (1249 NE 99th Ave, Portland, OR 97220) at 8:15am and should be back at Gateway by around 4pm.

During Queerzamas hikes, we are committed to cultivating a supportive and inclusive hiking environment for all participants. We proudly affirm that this course is LGBTQ+ friendly and supportive, welcoming individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations. We honor and respect each person's pronouns. Additionally, we strive to create a positive and supportive space that embraces diversity in all its forms. Regardless of race, age, gender, or life background, everyone is valued and respected here. It's our expectation that every applicant and accepted student will actively contribute to maintaining this safe and inclusive environment. Anticipate engaging in respectful dialogue and offering mutual support as we collectively strive for a positive and enriching hiking experience.
