Through romantic images and captivating stories, Peter Boag, professor of history at Washington State University, guides us on a journey back into the 19th century to learn about the central role that fine artists and popular illustrators of the Cascade Range played in promoting mountaineering, founding climbing organizations, supporting conservation efforts, and stimulating an early love of our mountains.
