Activity Notes
This is a provisional hike for Annette Gerlecki to become a Mazamas hike leader.
Hello! This will be a brief and brisk morning hike (2.5-3mph) meeting at Holman Lane Gate at 8:45am. Holman Lane is approx 700 ft of elevation gain in just under a mile - source dependent. We will continue onto the Birch trail to connect with the Wildwood trail looping back on the Dogwood trail - overall a level but undulating hike, approximately 6 miles/800 ft. My intention is for a brisk paced hike with the purpose of cardio exercise and ideally would like to be back to the gate before 12noon. We will take short breaks, please pack snacks and water along with appropriate layers and shoes - potential for mud and/or frosty conditions. Weather updates will be provided as hike approaches.
No passes or fees are required, parking is residential street parking. Please be aware not to block a residents driveway when parking and secure your valuables.
There is no restroom at Holman Lane gate. There is a restroom at Lower Maclay and would recommend stopping previous to arriving at the Holman Lane gate - NW Raleigh and NW Aspen.
