Activity Notes
If you missed this one when Gary Riggs led it in June, here's another chance.
Our out-and-back route goes through a part of the Gorge that no one has seen much of in seven years. There are some impressive giant cedar and hemlock trees along the way. The hike covers about 12 miles with 2000 ft of elevation gain.
Note, I have not done this hike before which in Mazamas parlance makes it an "exploratory" hike.
We'll carpool from the MMC departing a 7:30 am or you can meet us at the trailhead ready to hike at 8:30.
Directions to Oneonta Upper trailhead: From I 84 take Exit 22 to Old Hwy 30. Go thru Corbett and veer off to the right on Larch Mtn Rd. If you're at Vista House, you've missed the right turn. Go 15 miles up Larch Mtn Rd. Park on the right just at the last hairpin turn.
