A three pitch 5.6 sport route of an andesite pinnacle of pretty good rock on a broad steep nose with some airy exposure located a very short walk from highway 20.

Activity Notes

Santiam Pinancle is 2 1/2 pitches of well bolted 5.6 just 5 minutes from the highway. I will be running this as an intro to multipitch, and beginners with BCEP level rock skills are encouraged to apply. We will be climbing in teams of 3 with an experienced lead and lead belayer, with a beginner tied into the middle. Note that even at beginner level, you should be familiar and proficient with roped climbing and rappelling. When you apply, please add your name to this spreadsheet with your climbing level, so that I can assign the teams appropriately. Lead -- Experienced multipitch rock lead capable of managing and supervising a team of 3. Lead Belay -- ICS preferred, but not required. More experience than "I just got my lead card at the gym :O" is required.  Beginner -- Familiar with tying in, rapelling, basic climbing skills. You will always have a more experienced climber with you at each anchor to observe and keep you safe. Sunday -- Leader and assistant are looking to head to Smith afterwards to climb single pitch on Sunday.  Add your name to the sign-up sheet if you are interested.
