Mazama Trail features a less crowded trailhead for McNeil Point than Top Spur. This trail is maintained by Mazamas, and the route features summer wildflower views of Mt Hood.
Activity Notes
~10 miles, ~2500' eg. 2 mph with stops for views and huckleberries, weather permitting. RTM conditioning: this route, while entirely on Mt. Hood, travels only .3 miles of the Timberline Trail - if you want to get a feel for hiking on Mt. Hood without 'spoiling' the experience, this could be the hike for you - plus, you can admire some of the excellent trail work the Mazamas have done. Limited tree cover, have a solid sun protection game. expect to encounter Hood To Coast traffic on Highway 26| Other Information | |
