This is an B level Mazama Hike that occurs in a wilderness area. B level hikes are moderate or more challenging hikes with either less than 15 miles in distance with between 1,500 and 3,000 feet elevation gain or between 8 and 15 miles in distance with less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Activity Notes

This is one of 5 hikes we will do on the week of September 9th. Come and camp in the area or drive up and meet us there. We will leave the Cougar Washington Rest Area at 9:30 Traverse a scenic canyon carved by glacial forces. Western views of the mountain. This is a difficult hike, due to it's length, elevation gain and requiring a water crossing Out and back Hike is 11.5 miles and climbs 2270 feet
