Great endurance hike begins with the hike in to Ramona Falls, then continuing up the Timberline Trail to the Yocum Ridge junction, climbing through dense forest to a high alpine meadow with unparalleled views of the west side of Mt. Hood. Head around the ridge for a little more climbing to get up even closer to the mountain. Portland Hikers Link
Activity Notes
Yocum Ridge features a ramp-like ascent to one of the most dramatic overlooks of Mt Hood that you can hike to. No part of this hike is steep, but there's that log crossing of the Sandy River between the trailhead and Ramona Falls. We may or may not hit peak flowers, and it's a long time between viewpoints, but all our efforts should be rewarded. As a bonus, we'll also hike the entire Ramona Falls loop. Out total stats will be 16 miles and 3,800'.| Other Information | |
