Activity Notes

Skiers/Boarders will get preference but please feel free to apply if you will just be climbing (will still most likely need flotation / snowshoes).

3/20 Update -> Early Forecast is calling for a lot of precipitation next week. This climb will most likely be a backcountry tour around the Tatoosh and possibly a much less Avy risk objective (i.e. Castle Peak) / Camp Muir, Mazamas ridge instead...

We may take a non standard route to the summit of Lane Peak in the Tatoosh range, hopefully with lovely views of Mt. Rainier along the way!

Very Tentative plan is to skin up the “easy way” to a saddle (near the top of the lovers lane route) then rappel into the zipper.  From there we will climb to the summit of Lane Peak.  Accent and Decent options will depend on snow conditions / group ability. We will most likely go back the south side to the gulley between Denman / Lane peaks and hopefully find some good snow to ski/board some more if time allows.

I will wait until 5-7 days out to start accepting climbers to make sure weather is trending in a good direction.

Will schedule a group call 3 days out to:

  • Quick Introductions
  • Go over avy / weather conditions
  • Go over accent / decent routes
  • Discuss plan a/b/c...
  • Review group risk tolerance
  • Questions / Concerns
