The BCEP Gear night is scheduled by some BCEP team's to help get their students oriented to gear options. It will often take place at a local gear shop. It is an optional activity.

Activity Notes

This is an evening at the Mountain Shop to purchase gear for the class. The Mountain Shop will have the required gear on hand at a discounted price for students who'd like to purchase items.

You can also ask questions about non-required gear that piques your interest. That can be a bit of a rabbit-hole, especially if you talk to someone who loves to talk about gear. And all of the instructors in this class loooove to talk about gear.
