Neahkahnie mountain via Shortsand. A little beach, a little swirling ocean cliffs, perhaps a whale, the Mirkwood, my favorite chair.  11 miles, 2500? eg.      Old plan: ~12 miles, depending on side trips.  Taking advantage of a free state parks day, we'll explore a highlights reel of Silver Falls State Park, starting at the new North Canyon Trailhead and completing a double lollipop loop through the canyons, with a lunch stop at the South Falls Lodge (coffee, snacks, hot food and ice cream are available for purchase at the lodge cafe).  There will be many named and seasonal waterfalls and, with any luck, an ouzel!
