Activity Notes

With beautiful views, blazing Fall colors, and a relatively short effort, this is one of the most popular hikes in the Gorge. On a good day, you can get a view of Mt. Hood and the Columbia River.

We will hike the 2900 ft elevation gain and only 6.3 miles up and back (shorter than the 7.2 mile loop posted on the Details).

The meeting times are 7:45 am at the Mazama Mountaineering Center (MMC) parking lot and 9:00 am at the Dog Mt. trailhead parking lot.

All cars will need a day pass for parking.  You can use Northwest Forest Pass and other interagency senior, military, and Every Kid Outdoors passes or purchase a $5 pass at the trailhead parking lot.  There is a bathroom toward the beginning of the trail.
