Hike 8 miles on Canyon Creek trail to Lower Canyon Creek Lake. Hike 2 miles on climbers trail past Upper Canyon Creek Lake to Ell Lake. Ascend steep (35-40 degrees) timbered slope on right side of cliffs to snow field. Ascend snowfield (35 degrees) to base of summit. Exit snowfield to left crossing over the East Ridge. Climb east ridge about 1.5 rope lengths of class 4 to low class 5 granite rock to summit pinnacle. Descend the route.
