The hike to upper Mildred Lake is 4.4 miles and 2,500 feet. From the upper lake head up the slope right below Alpha. It begins as an easy bushwhack, and after about 400 vertical feet it opens up for clear hiking. Skirt the cliff bands and reach the talus slopes, then traverse toward Cruiser. Which will lead to the wide gully that takes one to the first chimney of the actual route. Find a small chimney with a cannon hole at its top. Climb through the cannon hole, or over the top, to a platform. Traverse E across the platform and, from a ledge, ascend directly up the face to the ridge crest with a good belay spot. The first moves are the hardest (low 5th class). There is a -inch bolt about halfway up and slightly to the left of this 70-ft. lead. Follow the ridge to the summit. Descent reverses the climb.
