El Dorado Peak is one of the €œgreat mountains in the North Cascades€ (Beckey), especially it's much photographed sharp-edged summit ridge. Our goal is to find a nice ice/steep snow route up the seldom-climbed NE Face. The approach can be . . . interesting. See Beckey's Cascade Alpine Guide for a more detailed look at this area's geologic and climbing history.
