Steep Snow and Ice Virtual Information Night 2026

Are you an ICS graduate—or a climber with similar experience—looking to build your confidence and skills on steeper snow and alpine ice terrain? The Mazama Steep Snow & Ice Skill-builder (SSI) might be the perfect next step for you!

Date: Tuesday, April 28th, 2026<br> Time: 6:30–7:30 p.m.
The SSI course enhances climbers' skills on steeper terrain using ice axes and crampons. Applications will be open May 1–22, 2026, with notifications by June 1, 2026. Classes will be held in July 2026 at the Mazama Mountaineering Center and on Mt. Hood. Teams A and B rotate practice dates. Aug 1-2 is reserved for a make-up weekend, if weather issues require a reschedule.
