Join Hannah and Joe Snyder for a discussion on safely navigating COVID precautions while hiking and backpacking and let them take you along on some of their favorite adventures this summer. About Hannah: I am happiest outside with her face under the sky and feet carrying me someplace interesting. I've been enjoying the outdoors with my Papa Joe since I can remember. One of my early memories is being carried across the Illinois River on my father's shoulders on one of our early adventures. These days, we try to get out at least once a month, weather and schedules permitting. About Joe: I grew up on a farm with a view of Wy?East near Molalla, poking around by myself in 40 acres of forest along the river. My first backpack, at the age of 15 or 16 with some friends, was to Jefferson Park with old wooden Trapper Nelson packs borrowed from relatives, which led to more hiking and then, thanks to father-in-law Ken Winters and the Mazamas, a lot of not too technical climbing. Later I became a country veterinarian in Coos County and could do far less. Now I am retired and doing a lot of hiking and backpacking with our daughter Hannah, who has brought me back into the Mazamas.
