Activity Notes

Join us on a car camping and hiking outing to Utah’s Red Rock country.

We will travel to Aches, Canyonlands, Natural Bridges, Capitol Reef, and Zion National parks. Participants should be able to carry a light pack, on Slickrock terrain involving occasional exposed traversing and easy scrambling. Hiking mostly at Mazama A to B level (less than 10 miles and 2000 feet elevation gain).

Costs: $374 to $634 for group size of 7 to 15 (including leaders). Camping and Mazama fees included. Participants responsible for transportation, food, park entry costs. We will arrange carpools and gear sharing.

$100 deposit will be charged upon acceptance to the Outing. You will be invoiced for the remaining balance of the trip.

GENERAL ITINERARY

Day 1 (Sun, Sept 29) Fly or drive to Salt Lake City, then Meet in Moab Utah. Night at   BLM Campground near Moab

Day 2  (Mon Sept 30) Hike in Arches National Park. Night at  BLM Campground.

Day 3  (Oct1) to Dead Horse St. Park. Hike in Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky section. Night at   BLM Campground.

Day 4  (Oct 2) Move to Needles section of Canyonlands NP. Hiking. Night at group Campground.   

Day 5  (Oct 3) Needles section of Canyonlands NP. Hiking. Night at group Campground. 

Day 6  (Oct 4) Drive to Natural Bridges NP (2.5 hours, 120 mi) . Hike, camp in Campground.

Day 7  (Oct 5) Drive to Capital Reef National Park. Camp at Thousand Lakes Campground, Torrey, Utah. Afternoon hikes.

Day 8  (Sun, Oct 6) Capital Reef National Park. Camp at Thousand Lakes Campground. Hiking

Day 9 (Oct 7) Capital Reef National Park. Camp at Thousand Lakes Campground. Hiking.

Day 10 (Oct 8) Drive Burr trail to Escalante. Hikes on route. Camp at Petrified Forest state park.

Day 11 (Oct 9) Drive to Bryce National Park. Afternoon hikes. Campground. Note: It may be cold at night!

Day 12  (Oct 10) Drive to Zion National Park. Afternoon hikes, Watchman campground group site. 

Day 13 (Oct 11) Zion National Park. hikes, Watchman campground group site. 

Day 14 (Oct 12) Zion National Park. hikes, Watchman campground group site. .

Day 15 (Sun Oct 13) Outing ends. Drive to Salt Lake for flight, or start drive to Portland
