Activity Notes

Practice ice climbing night on the MMC foam walls. Participants must know how to top rope belay according to the AAC Universal Belay Standard. Due to the unique hazards of ice climbing in a confined environment, additional safety rules will be discussed prior to climbing. The coordinator will dismiss anyone not deemed to be climbing in a safe manner.

Specific ice tools to be used on the foam walls will be provided. All other gear must be brought by the participants:

- Climbing helmet

- Crampon compatible boots

- Crampons

- Harness

- Belay device
