Activity Notes

Grab this hike while you still can! As the weather and conditions in Oregon begin to evolve into winter, our window for getting into high and remote places with normal hiking gear and trail conditions begins to close. This hike takes the normal path to Ramona Falls and then continues high up Yocum Ridge to about 7200' on a western shoulder of Mt. Hood for close up views of the Reid and Sandy Glaciers and Illumination Rock. With 3800’ of elevation gain in 17.4 miles RT, this is a big hike. However, the Gaia app has this hike listed at 19.14 miles and 5331' of gain, including the full Ramona Falls Loop, which we will not be doing. Be sure that you're physically able to handle it and are comfortable with being uncomfortable in all weather conditions.
