A beautiful hike on the South West side of Rainier National Park traveling past Lake George to a fire lookout on Gobbler's Knob for stunning views of the Sunset Amphitheater and Tahoma Glacier on Mt. Rainier. Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and the Olympics are also in view on a clear day.

Activity Notes

Our destination is a fire lookout in Rainier National Park that provides stunning views of Mt. Rainier, including Tahoma Glacier and the Sunset Amphitheater, as long as the mountain is willing to show itself, of course. On clear days, nearby mountains can also be seen (Hood, Adams, Helens, and the Olympics. I just added this hike to the database. Don't miss the opportunity to be on the first official Mazama hike of this trail!

Please note: The trailhead is 3 hours away from Portland and National Park entrance fees apply.
