Lots of switchbacks along a forested ridge.Lunch on the summit where we enjoy close-up

views of Mt. Hood as well as fine views of Burnt Lake with Mt. Jefferson in the distance.

We will not be visiting Cast Lake.

12.4 miles with elevation gain of nearly 3000'. Drive 93 miles round trip.
