Activity Notes

~12 miles, 2300 elevation gain

Starting at Timberline Lodge, we will hike a section of the Timberline Trail out to Paradise Park. This trail offers spectacular varied terrain of forest and tundra with various stream crossings and waterfalls, and of course views of Mt. Hood itself. We may even catch some wildflowers!

There may be some lingering snow on the trail, but I expect it to be melted out for the most part. Please bring water resistant boots for stream crossings and a waterproof layer if rain is forecast.

We will likely stop for a well-earned meal on the way back. For example, this place is pretty good: https://www.whistlestopwelches.com

Carpooling is encouraged! We will organize carpools at the Gateway Park and Ride parking garage at 8:30AM. Please remember to bring some gas money for your driver!
