Activity Notes
This will be your first introduction to vertical wall technical rock skills. You will practice indoors at the MMC auditorium: climbing, slingshot belay (belay from below), belay from above, rappelling, ascending a vertical fixed line, ascending a rope using two prussiks, passing through pro fixed line travel, and running belay. Climbing shoes are not required, but we recommend you bring your alpine boots to practice in. We will cut & tie your prussik cords to length as well. This session will introduce you to the necessary skills that will be refined and further practiced at the Horsethief rock skills filed session. These are skills that will be practiced and repeated at every convenience throughout this BCEP class, especially on our conditioning hikes. There will be a group potluck organized for this skills session.Registration is Closed
