The BCEP snow day field session is held in the gullies near Timberline Lodge. This day affords you the opportunity to practice snow skills such as movement on crampons, rope team travel, ice axe techniques, moving in balance, self-arrest, self-belay, as well as to observe snow anchors.

Activity Notes

We will have a full and busy day at Timberline learning and practicing vital snow skills including glacier travel, running belays, standing belays, terrain assessment, glissading, and self arresting a fall.  The following gear needs to be rented the day BEFORE you come up to Timberline: crampons, ice axe, mountaineering boots We will be leaving the Timberline parking lot promptly at 8am (please have all gear on and ready to go by then)
