Mixed rock-snow, late-season scramble in North Cascades National Park accessed from Ross Lake water taxi and Big Beaver Trail. Backcountry camp among heather following 4,000 ft. climb with full packs.

Activity Notes

Up for an adventure in North Cascades National Park? This is a two-day backcountry scramble route gaining 6,000', mostly with full packs. Rarely climbed due to remoteness (average one party per year), our climb will start from the Big Beaver water taxi stop on Ross Lake. Our route is exploratory for your leader, and because we don't know what snow conditions we'll face, ice axe and crampons are required. Successful applicants will have Mazamas profiles with lots of climbing/scrambling experience. Assuming a full party of six, each climber will be asked to pay $42 toward one night car-camping and two water taxi rides.
