Activity Notes

Join AYM for a night hike up Coyote Wall in the Columbia River Gorge to view a total lunar eclipse!  We will do a modified version of the standard loop, covering about 4 miles and 1000' of elevation gain.  Plan to spend about 30 minutes at the top viewpoint for photography and moon viewing.

A headlamp and extra batteries are required for this night hike!

What is a "Super Wolf Blood Moon Total Lunar Eclipse"?

  • Super Moon - Moon is at closest point to Earth in its orbit
  • Wolf Moon - First full moon in January
  • Blood Moon - Moon appears red during a lunar eclipse
  • Total Lunar Eclipse - The earth's shadow will entirely cover the moon

*This hike is subject to modification based on weather and viewing conditions.
