There is an approaching favorable weather window this weekend... Because of the nature of late season weather, the climb dates may need to shift forward, or back by a day. The climb leader will be proactive trying to communicate these potential changes in a timely way. ------- The climb require significant physical fitness... This will be a three day climb up Mt. Olympus, and I've never been up Olympus so this will be an "exploratory climb." We'll be camping in an alpine environment, and it'll be late season, so be prepared for changing conditions, as well as an engaging glacier crossing. You'll need a strong skillset, and set of experiences, for walking in crampons on icy terrain. As a note, I deliberately focus on selecting a diverse, and gender-balanced team when selecting applicants to my climbs. I take into consideration an individual's physical fitness, sufficient skill level for the route, and how they can increase the diversity of the climb team. This especially extends to the selection of the climb assistants, and lead-climbers, in order to open opportunity for their training as future leaders in the Mazamas.
