Have you ever wanted to see Mount Saint Helen's from every side and explore the unique and mysterious blast zone?   Get blown away with this unique hike circumnavigating Lawetlat'l and walking through the 1980 blast zone.  Be prepared to be greeted by lots wildflowers and mountain goats.  

This is an advanced, medium paced backpack trip to circumnavigate around Mount Saint Helens via the Loowit trail.  This rolling trail consists of rugged boulder hopping, scree fields, and even a little rope scramble on a few sections out of ravines.  This is an advanced backpack given the terrain, distance and elevation gain.  You will need good balance, and strong upperbody work to use a rope for assist out of the Toutle River and near by ravine. Expect 32 miles.  6400 gain. Plan to move at a comfortable speed of 1.5-2 mph. 

If you apply, please know that this is not a beginning backpack trip.  I will need to know that you have backpacking experience, understand leave no trace, hanging a bear bag, etc. If you have any questions, please ask!
