Portland Pride: March with the Queerzamas!

Calling all queer trailblazers, rainbow rock stars, and allies with summit swagger!

Prepare to harness your pride and scale new heights of fabulousness. The Queerzamas affinity group invites you to march with us at Portland Pride on Sunday, July 21!

Whether you're a seasoned summit-seeker, a bold boulderer, or just curious about exploring new peaks of queer joy, our community is here to rope you in and lift you higher along the parade route. Similar to last year’s inaugural march, we will be reimagining the parade route as a glacier and traveling through the streets of Portland as a rope team. So grab your harness, bedazzle your ice axe, and be ready to show the world that we're on belay and ready to slay!

While most Queerzamas activities are reserved for queer folx only, this parade is an opportunity for everyone to come together to celebrate the outdoors, friendship, and the power of community. Allies are welcomed! You also don't need to be a Mazamas member to march.

Meeting Time and Location: NW Everett between NW 8th and Broadway. Map here. Marching groups are labeled by number, we are number 71 out of 169 in the parade this year. Meet no later than 10:45 AM.

About the Queerzamas: We are a newer, growing affinity group within the Mazamas. We welcome all who identify as LGBTQ2SIA+ as well as those who are curious or questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identities. Our intention is to provide a safe and welcoming space for queers who love the outdoors, whether that be for adventures or socializing.
