Ape Canyon to Plains of Abraham

Meeting location to carpool will be Fred Meyer 7411 NE 117th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98662. Meet on the south side by the Garden Center. From there it will be about an hour to Cougar. We will stop at the public rest area there around 8:30 AM before proceeding to the Ape Canyon Trailhead.  Preview the trail here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/ape-canyon-trail We will hike about a mile past the Loowit Trail junction out into the Plains of Abraham to get some awesome views before turning around and heading back. I expect the total trip to be about 11.5 miles and 2200 feet of elevation over an easy grade.  Pace will be conversational and we will stop at the top to take lots of photos. A Northwest Forest Pass will be required to park.  Come join us for a great day on Mt. St. Helens!
