The sustained 35º to 40º 4000' vertical descent of the SW Chutes on Mt. Adams is a classic ski line in the Pacific Northwest. Spring conditions often produce perfect corn snow ready for harvest.

Activity Notes

Please update your profile with the relevant experience as requested below:

1) Participants should know how to use a beacon, shovel and a probe

2) Participants should be in excellent physical shape (1.5 hours or faster to the top of palmer with a 25 lb or heavier pack)

3) Backcountry skiing experience

4) BCEP or equivalent training

5) Should be adept at skiing black diamonds

We will climb the south side and descend the SW chutes, depending upn conditions

The dates are tentative and might change based on the weather. They are also dependent on the road melting out.
