This is an A level Mazama Hike that occurs in a non-wilderness area. A level hikes are easy or less strenuous hikes with less than 8 miles in distance and less than 1,500 feet of elevation gain.

Activity Notes

Plan is to head off trail down a small gully towards Summit Meadows.  Once we reach the meadows, head south crossing the former air strip as we continue our trek to around the West side of the lake.  At the South end have lunch and then traverse the East side of the lake to the air strip and retrace our route back to the cars.  Be prepared for winter conditions.  No cotton clothes.  Pace will be easy/moderate. 

Distance: 5 miles, 600’ elevation gain/loss.

Meet at the Sandy Safeway, by the Wells Fargo ATM, at 8:30 AM for carpooling.
