Start at Barlow Pass SnoPark and head south 1.7 miles on the PCT to the Twin Lakes Loop Trail. It's 1.6 miles via Bird Butte to Upper Twin Lake, then 0.5 miles down the drainage to Lower Twin Lake. We climb 0.7 miles back to the PCT and complete our trip on the PCT 4.1 miles back to Barlow Pass.
Activity Notes
We will start at Barlow Pass SnoPark and head south 1.7 miles on the PCT to the Twin Lakes Loop Trail. Oregon sno-park permit is required. Depending on conditions, we may then opt to visit the Twin Lakes, or continue south on the PCT for an out & back trek. If we are able to visit the Twin Lakes this trip would be approximately 8.5 miles with 1300 feet of elevation gain. Leader OK with going a shorter distance. We will break for lunch. Please note that snowshoeing is more strenuous than hiking and trip leader will reach out to accepted participants to discuss your experience with snowshoeing and your fitness level. Severe weather or rainstorms or road conditions /closures may cancel this trip. Barlow Sno-Park information: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mthood/recarea/?recid=53138| Other Information | |
