Gear Purchases:    Please bring a copy of the needed gear list so you can check it off as you get it. It will be in your on-line student manual.  Mountain Shop is offering a 'standard BCEP gear package' at a discount to BCEP students.  Lisa and Duncan will be there to help answer any questions and help you pick gear.  This is optional but is strongly encouraged and a good opportunity to ask your gear questions and learn more about other gear considerations, i.e. how to rent versus buying the more expensive gear.  We really discourage the purchasing of a lot of gear before the start of BCEP.  BCEP is already expensive and for now this basic list of gear is all that is really needed.  If you already have any gear, or plan borrow some please bring it to the social hike/gear buy so Duncan and Lisa can look at it and let you know if it will work for BCEP.   Please DON'T pre-purchase gear for BCEP because it often isn't what you'll need.
