Activity Notes

This is a social hike meaning it isn't primarily for conditioning.  The goal is meet your team members and start getting to know each other.   Sadly, it doesnt count toward your minimum number of required BCEP hikes.

Please wear the same clothing you think you would wear on a typical outdoor hike.  This is a great opportunity to try gear to see if it works for you.  Please don't go out and buy any gear just for this.

Suggestions:

Hiking boots or shoes that can be worn in mud, up steep trails and that don't give you blisters.

Non- cotton socks

Clothing appropriate to the days weather.  Is it raining, or might it rain?  Or cold out?  Is it windy?  Is it sunny? Do I need a hat (knit cap or sun hat).  Do I need sunscreen, or warm gloves?  Fleece top or a sweater...

LOCATION:

If you drive, please park on the street on SE Lincoln Street, between SE 60th and 64th, in Portland  There is plenty of free street parking, and a bike rack at SE 64th/Lincoln.  We will be hiking on Mt Tabor.

To decrease the risk of car break-ins, we always discourage leaving any valuable visible in your vehicles.

We will meet by the bike rack, a few minutes before the hike is scheduled to start, do introductions, answer questions and have a urban hike in the park.

Objective hazards: mud, steep trails, friendly dogs jumping on you, face-muscle strain from grinning too much, and weather.  Please dress for the weather.  It's spring, so who know how hot or cold it will be.
