Ole's Cave is a lava tube in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, located near Ape Caves on Mount Saint Helens. This cave is closed seasonally from late fall to early spring for bat hibernation.

Activity Notes

Ole's Cave is a lava tube located on the southwest side of MSH. It's near the Ape Cave, but unmarked. The approach is about a mile and a half hike on an old road, followed by off trail navigation through forested terrain. The cave is app 6500 ft long, with two or more entrances. 

 

The cave has some narrow sections that require crawling. Exiting the first section of the lava tube, there is about 10 feet of spicy scrambling. 

Expect about 5- 6 miles of hiking, with nominal elevation gain.

 

This cave is closed seasonally from 11/15-4/15 for bat hibernation.
