Mountaintop views that reach from the Pacific Ocean to Mt. Hood await you on this steep climb to the top of a double-peaked summit of basalt. The upper part of the mountain is decorated with vast steep wildflower meadows in summer. More details on Oregon Hikers.

Activity Notes

We won't be the first to try out the recently re-opened trail to the top of Saddle Mountain, but we shall do it just the same.

Weather may be wet this time of year. I will cancel if we don't make the minimum number if it rains. Elsewise its a go!

I've gained some poundage around my midrif that acts as an effective drag anchor. As a result I doubt we will be doing a sustained 2mph. If my beloved comes than we'll be slower still.
