Plummer Peak is a rounded summit just SW of Pinnacle Peak. Plummer involves a 2nd class .25-mi heather scramble from trail's end at the saddle.

Another prominent, if lesser, peak in the Tatoosh Traverse, Denman, lies just northwest of Plummer Peak, and just east of Lane Peak. Denman is an easy scramble and has great views of the surrounding peaks and Mt. Rainier across the valley to the north. This peak is slightly harder than Plummer Peak.

Activity Notes

Let's enjoy a beautiful fall day in Mt Rainier National Park with great views of Mt Rainier and the peaks of the Tatoosh!  This time of year should have good fall color, as well as a good possibility of wildlife (bears fattening up, pikas making hay, marmots....).

This is a moderate scramble and is suitable for new BCEP graduates, or anyone who is comfortable with some off trail hiking/scrambling and mild exposure.

We will meet at Reflection Lakes parking area at 8:45 am, climb Plummer Peak and then go over to Denman. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.  A suggested carpool meeting place is the MMC at 5:30 a.m. the day of the climb.

This is a provisional lead for Dawn (to advance to a full climb leader).
