Activity Notes

This event is only open to 2023 Canyoneering students. It will be run by members of the canyoneering committee and a few pre-approved assistants. (please email the leader if you are an assistant and want to come help)

The focus of this training will be rappel practice for anyone enrolled in this years canyoneering class ( we are so excited to have you in the class!)  This extra training is not required as a pre-requisite to take the Canyoneering class, but instead being offered as a way to brush up on your skills.

Please bring your helmet, harness, rappel/belay device (no gri-gris), 2 personal protection leashes (or one and a double runner), several locking carabiners.

Optional - a water bottle and layers (the MMC temperature is variable.)

Wear comfortable clothing you don't mind getting a little dirty, closed toe shoes (sneakers are fine),

If your hair is longer than shoulder length please bring a hair tie and pull it back so it doesnt get caught in your belay device.  Consider removing any rings or jewelry that might get caught while practice rappelling.

Gloves are optional. (if you don't have any don't go buy some)
